The Ohio Rattlers beat the A-Town All Stars 38-9 in the North Playoffs while the Mankato Manglers beat the Shawnee Cougars 36-35 in the South Playoffs.  The Manglers went on to win Homie Bowl I 37-17 over the Rattlers.  Dan Marino was the Homie Bowl MVP

The 1999 season brought major changes to the league. The Millionaires and Nightmare were added as expansion teams and several teams changed ownership. The league also expanded to 3 divisions.

2000 Season

For the 2000 season there were numerous team changes.  Two expansion teams were added, the Rampage and Blue Raiders taking the league to 12 teams.

In the First round of the playoffs the Rampage beat the Tomahawks by best divisional record 23-23.  The Cows beat the Rattlers 34-31.
In the second round the Rampage beat the Dawg Pound 27-6 and the Senators beat the Cows 36-15.
In Homie Bowl V the Rampage beat the Senators 35-16. Matt Hassleback of the Senators was game MVP.
